THE greatest tennis player of all time is a huge argument for tennis fans, where everybody usually falls into a camp, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. But this article is going to about the true Greatest, Novak Djokovic.

To be the greatest tennis player, you have to do a lot right. You have to be mentally strong, physically strong and powerful. Novak Djokovic is nothing short of these facts, according to FD Tennis Djokovic is the most mentally strong tennis player and we can see as to why. One example is in the 2019 Wimbledon Championships, stakes are high and the score is 40-15 Federer's championship point, only needs one more point to win Wimbledon for the 9th time, most players are done think there is no way they are coming back. But not for Novak Djokovic, he saves both championship points and comes back to win Wimbledon. This example clearly shows that Djokovic is like no over in terms of mental and physical strength.

"BOTTOM HALF: Djokovic holding the winners trophy, after defeating Federer with 2 match points, and Federer going to receive his runner up trophy looking disappointed."

Another example of a time where Djokovic had to be pushed to the absolute physical limits is the 2012 Australian Open Final against Rafael Nadal, the match lasted 5 hours and 53
minutes, with both players testing to see who was going to go to the absolute limit physically. It was hot, 36 degrees Celsius at dusk in Melbourne, players and physically exhausted chasing a bright green ball until the early hours of the morning. This was tennis at it's peak, and it clearly shows Novak Djokovic is the most physically strong tennis player after winning this marathon tennis match.

A Time where Djokovic showed his true power was when he won a 54 shot rally in the US Open 2013 against Rafael Nadal reaching high speeds and true power, this rally really showcased how true his power is and why he is the greatest tennis player in multiple categories

But another question is, why is Novak Djokovic the goat? Why don't the other players just train as hard as Djokovic then they can be the GOAT too and that comes down to Djokovic's training.

Novak Djokovic’s daily training routine is a masterclass in discipline, recovery, and holistic wellness. Here’s a breakdown of what his day typically looks like, supported by first-hand insights and experiments from several videos:

Morning: Mindful Start & Physical Prep

  • Meditation and Stretching: Djokovic begins his day with mindfulness practices like yoga and meditation to centre himself mentally and physically.

  • Nutrition: His breakfast is plant-based, gluten-free, and packed with energy. Inside the secret life of Novak Djokovic shows his morning routine including yoga, stretching, and a nutrient-rich breakfast.

Midday: Intense Training & Tactical Drills

  • Mental Reset: Djokovic often journals or reflects on his performance. The mental side of Novak Djokovic's routine outlines how he integrates mental clarity into his daily rhythm.

  • Sleep Hygiene: He prioritizes quality sleep, often winding down with calming routines and screen-free time.

This routine is very unique, and it clearly shows as to why not a whole lot of other players can keep up with him, other players routines are nothing like Novak's and this can tell you a lot.

DJOKOVIC's statistics are like no other player too, with 24 Grand Slams titles he has the most ever recorded with Serena Williams behind with 23 Grand slams

And it really doesn't stop there...
40 ATP Master's 1000 titles also the highest ever in the mens,

7 ATP Finals titles also the most in Mens history

100 ATP Titles, 4th in Men's history ever which is a fantastic achievement and further shows he is the goat

And if those records weren’t enough, Djokovic’s dominance stretches across every surface — hard court, clay, and grass. Unlike some players who are almost unbeatable on one surface but struggle on another, Djokovic has mastered them all. He has multiple Grand Slam titles at each of the four majors, proving that he can adapt his game to any condition, climate, or crowd. That’s something not even Federer or Nadal can claim to the same extent.

Another big reason why Djokovic stands out as the greatest is his head-to-head record. When you compare him directly to Federer and Nadal — the two other players usually brought up in the GOAT debate — Djokovic comes out on top in both matchups. This means that when it really comes down to the best vs. the best, Djokovic has consistently been the one walking away with the win. It’s not just about winning titles; it’s about proving yourself against the toughest opponents in the sport, and he’s done that time and time again.

It’s also worth noting how long Djokovic has been at the top. Tennis careers are usually short when it comes to dominating at the highest level — injuries, younger players, and the physical toll of the sport catch up quickly. But Djokovic has been competing and winning at the very highest standard for over a decade. Even as he gets older, he’s still winning Grand Slams and breaking records, showing no signs of slowing down. That kind of longevity doesn’t just happen; it’s the result of years of discipline, smart training, and an unshakable mindset.

When you look at everything — his mental strength under pressure, his unmatched fitness and endurance, his power and precision, his one-of-a-kind training routine, and his record-breaking achievements — it’s clear why Novak Djokovic isn’t just in the GOAT conversation. He is the conversation.

So while the debate about who’s the greatest tennis player of all time might never fully end, the evidence is pretty hard to ignore. From Wimbledon comebacks to Australian Open marathons, from long rallies to lifting record-breaking trophies, Djokovic has shown the world exactly why he’s on top. Numbers don’t lie, and neither do the moments we’ve seen on court — Novak Djokovic is, without a doubt, the greatest tennis player of all time.
